Trusted North Carolina
Probate Firm

The death of a loved one can be overwhelming in so many ways. It is normal to wonder what the legal process will look like, how long it will take, and what it will cost. We attempt to answer all of these questions in these pages.

Probate Partners is a North Carolina law firm exclusively devoted to uncontested North Carolina probate and estate administration. Our intention is to steer clients through the process as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Everyone has heard stories of families torn apart in lengthy court battles, and most people wonder how to avoid them. If you see a court battle brewing within your family, you need to engage trial lawyers – we can refer you appropriately.

Probate Partners represents North Carolina estates for which no significant disputes among heirs and beneficiaries are anticipated. Lesser controversy means better mental health, a faster court process, lower legal fees, and no need to ever appear before a judge in court.

Probate Partners works closely, clearly, and empathetically with executors, administrators, and family members who are unfamiliar with the complexities of probate statutes, rules, and procedures.

Why Choose Probate Partners

Do I need an attorney if the estate is uncontested? Not always, but it’s usually a smart decision. In the absence of challenges and will contests, uncontested probate remains a court proceeding with similarities to litigation such as deadlines, appearing before court clerks and judges, navigating unwritten procedures, meeting strict filing requirements, and unexpected and unwelcome surprises or “landmines.”

What you gain for the price of working with experienced legal professionals is:

  • Assurance that you are doing the work correctly and that you won’t have delays resulting from rejected court filings
  • Avoidance of problems related to the maintenance of real estate
  • Ensuring that you do not become liable to others for unintentional errors
  • Promoting harmony among family members and other beneficiaries
  • Avoiding pitfalls inherent in dealing with creditors
  • Avoiding multiple trips to court and corrective instructions you may not understand
  • Avoiding the legal costs of repairing errors
  • Greater peace of mind and better sleep at night

Highly recommend.
Tom did a great job for my sister and her husband establishing a will and a trust. When we needed a healthcare power of attorney for my parents, we asked for his help. He was quick, kind, fair, and takes care of his clients like family.
